Arkansas Seal
The Seal was adopted
in 1864 and modified
in 1907
The Craters of Diamonds State Park is
the only North American Diamond mine
open to the public. It is located near
Murfreesboro.
Hot Springs near the
Ouachita Mountains has hot
mineral water that bubbles
from the ground at 143° F
(162°C). The Native
Americans believed the
water was warmed by the
breath of the Great Spirit.
The two main mountain ranges in
Arkansas are the Ouachitas and the
Ozarks.  
The mountain people of
the
Ozarks have
preserved their music
and crafts like wood
and quilt making.
